Today, we lack metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror. Are we capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists every day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us?

Baghdad; Diyala: Ba`qubah; Kirkuk; SamarraCoalition forces killed three al Qaeda operatives and captured nine during raids in central and northern Iraq; another three were killed and a jail was discovered in Samarra. The Iraqi Army captured seven al Qaeda fighters, including a cell leader, in Baghdad and captured two during a raid in Baqubah. Iraqi security forces captured 13 insurgents near Kirkuk

MosulCoalition forces killed one al Qaeda operative and captured nine in raids nationwide. Iraqi Security Forces killed 14 insurgents and captured 44 during Operation iron Hammer in Mosul.

Baghdad; SamarraThe Islamic Army of Iraq battled al Qaeda south of Samarra; 18 al Qaeda fighters were killed and 16 captured. Iraqi police and US forces killed four insurgents and captured eight in Samarra, including three foreign terrorists. Ten al Qaeda operatives were captured during raids in central and northern Iraq. Thirty-two insurgents were detained in Baghdad.

Baghdad; Samarra; Diyala: KhalisThe 1920s Revolution Brigades captured 60 al Qaeda fighters in Diyala while five al Qaeda operatives, including three emirs, were killed in Khalis. Coalition forces captured 16 al Qaeda operatives in central and northern Iraq. Iraqi Security Forces killed seven al Qaeda fighters and captured four in Samarra, and captured 14 in Baghdad.

Tall Afar; Diyala: KhalisCoalition forces killed six al Qaeda media operatives and captured 15 during raids in central Iraq. The Iraqi Army killed eight insurgents and captured 10 during an operation in Tall Afar. US forces reportedly arrested five Iranians in Khalis in Diyala province.
Tuesday, November 13, 2007: Captured: 33; Killed: 16
Kirkuk; Baghdad: AdwaniyahConcerned Citizens, backed by US troops, killed 15 al Qaeda fighters after al Qaeda attacked checkpoints in Adwaniyah. Coalition forces killed one al Qaeda operative and captured 14 during raids throughout Iraq. Iraqi police captured 19 insurgent suspects near Kirkuk.

Ghazni; HelmandFifteen Taliban and three civilians were killed in fighting in Helmand's Garmsir district. Five foreign fighter facilitators were captured during an operation in Ghazni province.
