Today, we lack metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror. Are we capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists every day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us?

Thursday, October 25, 2007: Captured: 11; Killed: 5
Coalition forces killed three al Qaeda operatives and captured 11. Iraqi Special Operations Forces captured two al Qaeda cell leaders in Baghdad and Abu Ghraib. Iraqi Security Forces captured 21 suspected insurgents.
Friday, October 26, 2007: Captured: 11; Killed: 7
Iraqi special forces captured two Mahdi Army leaders. US forces killed seven al Qaeda operatives and captured 31. Nine al Qaeda fighters were captured along with an anti-aircraft gun in Babil province.
Saturday, October 27, 2007: Captured: 15; Killed: 16
The Islamic Army of Iraq killed 16 al Qaeda in a clash in Salahadin province.Coalition forces captured 15 al Qaeda operatives.
Sunday, October 28, 2007: Captured: 25
Thirteen insurgents were captured in Doura; another six insurgents were captured southeast of Baghdad. Six al Qaeda operatives were captured in raids nationwide.
Monday, October 29, 2007: Captured: 22; Killed: 11
Coalition forces captured 11 al Qaeda operatives during raids throughout the country. US troops captured six insurgents in an air assault in Madain, while Iraqi troops captured 16 in Baghdad.
Tuesday, October 30, 2007: Captured: 66; Killed: 16; High value: 1
Iraqi police killed the leader of al Qaeda in western Iraq. Coalition forces killed four al Qaeda operatives and captured 17. Security officials denied reports that 20 headless bodies were found in Diyala. Twelve al Qaeda operatives were killed and 22 captured during separate operations in Diyala province. Twenty-seven insurgents were captured in Huweijah.
Wednesday, October 31, 2007: Captured: 29; Killed: 3; High value: 1
Coalition forces killed three members of al Qaeda in Tamim province and captured an al Qaeda commader and three cell members in Khadra. Coalition forces captured 12 members of the Special Groups. Ten Sadrists were arrested in Diwaniyah, while seven Popular Committees members were arrested in Diyala.

Helmand; KandaharAfghan and NATO forces killed over 80 Taliban fighters during fighting in the Musa Qala Wadi region of Helmand province. Several Taliban fighters were also killed in the Shah Wali Kowt District of Kandahar province.

Kunar; UruzganOver fifty Taliban were killed or wounded during fighting in Uruzgan province. Several Taliban were killed and five captured during a raid in Kunar province.
Tuesday, October 30, 2007: Captured: 9; Killed: 30
Farah; Kandahar; UruzganThe Taliban overran the Gulistan district center in Farah province; thirty Taliban, four police and six civilians were killed in the fighting. Afghan intelligence captured three Pakistani Taliban trainers traveling from Uruzgan to Kandahar. Six Taliban were captured in Kandahar City.
